Now I’m not a big fan of beer but I am a big fan of bread.
And let me just say that when bread is infused with the rich flavors of your favorite kind of beer it becomes completely irresistible to even those who don’t love a beer flavor.
My personal favorite part of this recipe is the golden crispy crown that bakes on the top.
The butter allows the crumb of this bread to perfectly crisp up and when combined with the flavor of the beer, turns into the most amazing savory bites.
I can almost guarantee it will be your favorite part of this beer bread too!
The neat part about this recipe too is that it requires no yeast. It has the leavening agent of baking powder in it but because there is no yeast, so there is no waiting or lengthy rising times.
Within an hours time you can have this delicious bread whipped up from start to finish!
With only 6 simple ingredients that you probably already have in your home you can quickly and easily whip up a loaf of bread that will always impress your family and friends.

What kind of Beer Can I use?
The million dollar question!
This is completely preference and I always say, just use the beer you have on hand because any kind of beer will work.
However, if you’re a taste connoisseur, let me give you a little more detail.
A lighter beer (Coors Light, Miller Lite, Bud Light, Keystone, Corona) will give your bread a mild beer flavor and lighter texture and color.
This is more commonly preferred, especially if brought to a party and kids may be eating it. (remember the alcohol cooks out, so it’s okay for kids to enjoy this bread 😉
Darker beer like a stout, porter or dark ale will leave your bread with a darker texture and color. It will also give off a stronger, vibrant beer flavor. These beers, along with IPA’s will counter the sweetness of the bread leaving behind more of a bitter aftertaste.
So if you’re very into beer and you have a lot of craft beers in the fridge, by all means, crack one open and try it in a loaf of this bread recipe.
But if you’re going for more of a neutral and mild flavor profile, I recommend using a lighter, more mild tasting beer.
And if you’d like a suggestion, I end up mostly using the cheap cerveza’s from Aldi (Monterrey Brand) because they’re a good price and we can’t tell the difference much anyways.
I buy a pack and keep them in the back of my pantry only to be used when making beer bread. Highly recommend 🙂
Bonus Beer Bread Dip Recipe You have to try:
Did you grow up like me with Tastefully Simple recipes on repeat? Whenever my Mom made a recipe with anything from Tastefully Simple, it was the best!

When I told my sister that I was adding my beer bread to the blog, she immediately told me I needed to add my version of spinach and herb dip, inspired by our favorite Tastefully Simple Recipe growing up.
The combination of this dip with the fresh beer bread is perfect for any occasion.
And once you try a bite, it is hard to stop eating it! It’s incredible!
Simple Spinach and Herb Dip Recipe:

- 1/4 cup Chopped Chives
- 1 Tbsp Fresh or Dried Parsley

This was excellent! I used a thyme rosemary himalayan sea salt and it gave a very lovely flavor profile that was incredible with the rich buttery taste. The sides and bottom of my loaf were dark, but deliciously caramelized and crunchy. Thank you so much for the best beer bread a girl could ask for!

The instructions do not say when to add the honey, I’m assuming at the time of adding the beer.
