When it comes to healthy indulgences, few things can compete with the delicious combination of chocolate and avocado. These deceptively delicious, rich and creamy chocolate avocado fudgesicles not only taste decadent but pack a nutritious punch. Your kids will be asking for these all summer long!
These fudgesicles are made with simple real food ingredients like avocados, yogurt or kefir, cacao powder and naturally sweetened with maple syrup.
I have packed several nutrient rich ingredients within this recipe loading each fudgesicle with lots of healthy fats, antioxidants and probiotics.
But it’s the avocados that take center stage. The creamy nature of avocados makes them an ideal base for a creamy fudgesicle.
While also providing them with a smooth texture without the need for additional thickeners.
These make the most decadent and healthy dessert that will get every parent excited to feed to their children, or themselves 🙂

Customization and Variations
Dairy Free? Simply omit the yogurt and milk and replace with water, nut milk or coconut milk until the texture resembles a pudding like state.
Chocolate and Peanut Butter Fan? Do you love the combination of peanut butter and chocolate? Try adding 1/4 cup peanut butter to this recipe with the addition of a tablespoon or two more milk to thin out the texture a bit.
Natural Sweetener Choices: Honey or Maple Syrup both work well. (However I personally prefer the sweetness of real maple syrup in these)
Cacao vs Cocoa Powder: Cacao powder is high in antioxidants and nutrients because it is raw processed preserving more health benefits from the cacao beans. Cocoa powder still contains some antioxidants but reduced nutrients because it is processed at higher temperatures offering less health benefits than cacao powder. Personally I prefer cacao powder for these reasons but both cacao and cocoa powder can be used in this recipe.
Kefir vs Yogurt: This is for the gut healthy probiotic punch. You can use both of these interchangeably. Ideally use plain kefir or yogurt but if you prefer a flavor, I recommend vanilla. Just use what you have on hand.
Coffee Lover? Try this adult version fudgesicle and instead of mixing in the milk, mix in a strong coffee or espresso for a creamy rich coffee flavored fudgesicle. Oh yum!
Banana and Chocolate Fan? Instead of adding two avocados, add just one avocado and one banana to yield a creamy chocolate and banana flavored fudgesicle.
What combinations, additions or flavors would you add to this mix? I’d love to know in the comments below!
