Making homemade gravy from scratch is easier than you think. I used to find gravy to be so intimidating so I never made it for the longest time. Until I realized how simple it actually was to make!

With just a few simple ingredients and a little whisking, you can create a delicious silky gravy that perfectly compliments your roasted meats and sides every time!

- Pan/meat drippings or broth
- Butter
- Flour
- Salt and Pepper to taste
How to make Easy Homemade Gravy from Scratch

- Collect and strain out your pan drippings to collect anything floating around and add to a sauce pan.
- Turn heat to low and melt in butter. Then whisk in the flour, being sure to not leave any lumps. As the mixture heats, and comes to a low boil, it will begin to thicken.
- Once thickened add salt and pepper to taste and enjoy!

Can I use regular store bought stock for making this gravy?
Yes you can!
But know that it will taste differently! Store bought stock has other flavors added in, which will change the flavor of the gravy compared to a traditional meat/pan drippings liquid.
I much prefer the drippings used after cooking meat, but when I’m in a pinch, or just want gravy on the side for another meal, I will use this method with a store bought stock.

Ingredients
- 2 cups of pan/meat drippings or broth
- 2 Tablespoons Salted Butter
- 3 Tablespoons Flour
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Collect 2 cups liquid and strain out your pan drippings to collect anything floating around, then add to a sauce pan.
- Turn heat to low and melt in butter. Then vigorously whisk in the flour, being sure to not leave any lumps. As the mixture heats, and comes to a low boil, it will begin to thicken.
- Once thickened, remove from heat and add in salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
